BEACH BUGGY PERMITS

To inquire a beach buggy permit for the beaches of Ship Bottom you must apply in person.  There is a $25.00 charge for a Ship Bottom Beach Buggy Permit.  Permits are issued for the calendar year, January 1st through December 31st.  No vehicles shall be operated on the strand or beach front during the period from the third Saturday in May to the third Saturday in September. The following items are requested to purchase a permit: 

•      Current Driver License.
  

•      Current Registration for the vehicle that will be driven on
       the beach.
  

•      Valid Insurance on the vehicle the permit will be issued too.

A temporary handicap permit application can be obtain through the Ship Bottom Police Department during normal business hours Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This application must be filled out by the applicant and taken to your Doctor and have his portion filled out and signed. The charge of a temporary handicap permit is $5.00 and is good for six months but, can be extended for one year.

For a permanent handicap permit, you must apply at New Jersey Motor Vehicle.

To inquire a firearms permit through this department you must be a residence of Ship Bottom.

You must apply for the firearms permit in person at the Ship Bottom Police Department located at 1621 Long Beach Blvd.

To apply for a Firearms Permit there is a charge of $54.00 paid by certified bank check or money order paid at the time of application.

All applicants are subject to an intensive background investigation.

For a change of address to a pre-existing firearms permits there is a charge of $5.00 to be paid by money order or certified bank check at the time of the request.

To change your address you must bring your existing firearms ID card when applying for this change and proof of new local address.
